Dr. Keyachtta C. Hawkins is a native of the small town of Henderson, North Carolina. Dr. Hawkins earned her Bachelors’ degree from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, as well as her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, making her a double Tarheel. In dental school, she served as the President of the Student National Dental Association, a Schweitzer Fellow, and she traveled to Malawi, Africa to provide free dental care. Dr. Hawkins also won several awards for her leadership and commitment to service, such as The Dental Trade Alliance Foundation Community Service Scholarship and the ADA Foundation E. Bud Tarrson Dental Award. She recently completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Grady Health Systems in Atlanta, Georgia, where she spent half her time treating patients living with HIV and the other half completing complex restorative cases.
Dr. Hawkins is committed to providing excellent comprehensive dentistry and empowering her patients by educating them on their oral health. She loves to travel, eat, and spend time with her family and friends. Currently, she serves on UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry’s Admissions Committee and is a member of both the American Dental Association and the National Dental Association.
